The book of Job is a beautiful prophetic picture of a restored life and community, but also brings encouragement to the position of women. We all desire restored fortunes and double blessings, but we may not comprehend how to access these benefits for our own lives. Job’s story provides an example of this double blessing and God’s heart for restoration. However, in a shift from our common understanding of inheritance, it is also Job’s daughters who get to share in the restored inheritance. In this oldest book in the Bible, we are shown that when God restores, no one is omitted from the blessing.
