Rebekah’s passion for music and desire for people of all ages and cultures to be able to access it has been informed by her own musical journey. Rebekah has played professionally with Adelaide Symphony Orchestra and State Opera (SA), toured with Adelaide Art Orchestra, Co-Opera, Adelaide Chamber Singers and Jango (gypsy band), performed with popular artists such as Josh Groban and KD Lang, played at many festivals, and has recorded for live radio, TV and film. Surprisingly most of these professional achievements don’t make it to her list of favorite musical moments, those being set aside for a more impromptu style of concert; for Ugandan prisoners, walking through a dump in the Philippines playing violin with a trail of children behind her and singing on top of Uluru. Concerts at the Planetarium in the dark, with the audience looking at the stars is another highlight. Her love of music and people has inspired her to gather others to share in the experience, whether as a freelance violinist, in her own Suzuki Studio providing early childhood music education, founding and conducting community ensembles, or as a worship pastor in Australia. The latest musical wandering for Rebekah is the release of her own album THIS YOUR SONG (May 2013), which brings together Rebekah’s journey of diverse musical experiences and her passion for worship.
